A periodic electrical safety inspection referred to as Electrical Inspection Condition Report (EICR) will uncover potential fire hazards and electric shock risks, it will also determine any faulty or unsafe electrical work. It ensures that all products within the premises are tested for electrical safety.
For many commercial businesses, an EICR, which used to be called a periodic testing report, will be required at the lowest frequency interval – every 5 Years. However, higher risk environments will require 3 Yearly or even more frequent testing.
EICR’s are a reliable electrical safety inspection that can only be carried about by approved bodies and companies. All of our electricians are NICEIC qualified with electrical safety certificates.
EICRs purpose is to determine whether an electrical installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service. Below are the five main purposes of EICR:
Kwik Electrical will inspect the electrical system to make sure that it is free of damage, wear and tear and deterioration. They also determine whether an installation or equipment is properly installed.
Once issues are detected, KwikElectrical will recommend corrective action to make sure that the electrical system is in good working condition.
Criteria includes the suitability of the control gear and switchgear, the bonding and earthing of wires and cables and the conditions of sockets.
An EICR determines which electrical appliances show signs of damage and wear and tear, recommending the repair and replacement of items deemed unsafe.
The EICR also comes in handy in the event an accident occurs. It’s proof that you have taken the necessary measures to ensure the safety of your customers and employees.
