An EICR is an ‘Electrical Installation Condition Report’ which determines whether an installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued use. It will uncover potential fire hazards and electric shock risks and determine any faulty or unsafe electrical work. The EVHS (Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme) ended on 31st March 2022 for people who live in bungalows, detached, semi-detached and terraced housing. It is still available to people that live in flats or rented accommodation. The grant provides up to 75% (max £350) of the cost of one charger and installation. The WSC (Workplace Charging Scheme) is still available to businesses, charities and public sector organisations for up to 40 sockets across all sites and for up to 75% (max £350) per installation. LED lighting is still fairly new to the market so there is not a lot of data on this at the moment for us to compare. The good news though is if you use a good quality product from a reputable UK manufacturer they will usually give you a 3-5 year product warranty. Kwik Electrical also matches this product warranty with a 3 year labour warranty so if anything goes wrong in this time you will not have to pay anything.
PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) is not a legal requirement in the UK but legislation states that businesses/employers/landlords should make sure that all electrical equipment is maintained to a safe standard.
