What is an EICR and why do I need one?

An EICR is an ‘Electrical Installation Condition Report’ which determines whether an installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued use. It will uncover potential fire hazards and electric shock risks and determine any faulty or unsafe electrical work. Please go to our Testing & Inspection page which gives you all the information on the purposed of the EICR.

How much energy does an LED light fitting save?

Typically an LED light can reduce your energy consumption by up to 70%

Are there any grants available for LED lighting?

-Yes, these are often available through your local council so please get in touch and see how they can help you with this.

How long does an LED light fitting last?

LED lighting is still fairly new to the market so there is not a lot of data on this at the moment for us to compare. The good news though is if you use a good quality product from a reputable UK manufacturer they will usually give you a 3-5 year product warranty. Kwik Electrical also matches this product warranty with a 3 year labour warranty so if anything goes wrong in this time you will not have to pay anything.

Do you need to have all items PAT tested?

PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) is not a legal requirement in the UK but legislation states that businesses/employers/landlords should make sure that all electrical equipment is maintained to a safe standard. Also, a business has a responsibility to its employees to ensure their health & safety, so it is still a good idea to have this done to prevent any electrical accidents from happening in the workplace. If you would like any more information or a quotation for this service please get in touch and we can go through your specific requirements.
